22nd Feb : Blowboat challenge led by Ben (all kit supplied)
21st Mar : Paddy's night
23rd May : Ubermeister, happy hour
6th June Turk trophy : open to all
19th Oct : Ocoberfest with Umpa band, Steiners, etc
Solent shallows

Although one of our shallow areas is presently well marked, here is a great web site showing other shallows and hazards around the Island. Great if you want to go rock hopping on the RTI race. www.solentshallows.co.uk

Winter sailing circuits
Restarting this Wednesday (7th January). Wednesday evenings at the Club, 7.00pm to 8.00pm.

Please arrive a little before 7.00pm to move tables and chairs.

This is a self run affair with various members taking the lead.
2015 Cruising dates set
The dates for next year's Yacht cruising have now been set for 2015. They are:

R1: 14-15 March - Bembridge
R2: 3-6 April [Easter] - Cowes (Shepherds),Beaulieu
R3: 16-17 May - Yarmouth
R4: 11-12 July - Itchenor
R5: 29-30 Aug - Lymington
R6: 19-20 Sept [Barts Bash] - Hopefully Royal Yacht Squadron
R7: 17-18 Oct - Hamble
R8: New Years - Shepherds, Cowes

CHRISTMAS AT STOKES BAY SC
Boxing Day – Friday 26th December

11.00am – Boxing Day Race, mulled wine, soup and rolls, bar open

New Year’s Eve – Wednesday 31st December

7.30pm - Pirate Ball, American Supper, bar open, rum punch, party games, fancy dress, juke box. Donations of £2 are requested from adults to cover the cost of the music. Pirate fancy dress avoids walking the plank (you have been warned!)

New Year’s Day – Thursday 1st January

11.00am – New Year’s Day Race, Christmas Draw, bar open
Christmas Carol Singing – Sunday 21st December, 2.00pm
Come and sing Christmas carols at the Club on Sunday 21st December, 2.00pm.

Don't forget to buy your tickets for the Christmas Draw while you're there!
St Mary’s Church Alverstoke – Christmas Tree Festival
View the trees on Friday 12th, Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th December 2014, 11am to 6pm.

Admission £3 / Concessions £2 / Under 16 Free.

Great Night at the Prize Giving Dinner
What a great evening last night at the Club. Well done to all the winners. We're planning on updating the gallery feature on the website. As soon as we do, they'll be uploaded there. In the meantime, they are available on our dropbox site (click here)

16 and 17 May - Topper training (Sat), Topper Traveller (Sun)
23 & 24 May - Dart 18 Open
29, 30 & 31 May - B14 Nationals
25, 26, 27 & 28 June - Moth Nationals
5 & 6 Sept - Catamaran Open and Vortex Nationals (TBC)
19 Sept - Laser Traveller
20 Sept - Barts Bash (more info on 20th Dec)

Laser Masters’ World Championships
Congratulations to all the Laser sailors who brilliantly represented Stokes Bay Sailing Club at the Masters' Worlds in Hyeres, France.

Great Britain took the honours in three categories, including one outstanding performance from our Commodore, Nick Harrison, the 2014 Standard Grand Masters' World Champion.

Musto Skiff National Champion – Bruce Keen
Congratulations to Stokes Bay member Bruce Keen - Musto Skiff National Champion again!

SBSC sailor Mike Palfreman claimed 2nd place, and Richard Pelley (also from SBSC) was 9th.
