From M27 leave at Junction 11 (Fareham Central) and follow signs to Gosport along A32. Continue for approximately 3 miles until you come to two roundabouts. Go straight over the first one, keep in right-hand lane to the second. Take third exit off second roundabout to Alverstoke/Haslar etc. (Military Road). This long straight road brings you to a roundabout (Cocked Hat Pub on left, Car Show rooms far right). Go straight over into Gomer Lane. Carry on down to next small roundabout and go straight across. You will now see the sea. Follow road along the promenade east. You will see Stokes Bay Sailing Club on the right next to a large car park.
Train from Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour, about 1 1/2 - 2 hours. When leaving train station at Portsmouth Harbour head towards the ferry for Gosport, the ferry trip is about 5 minutes. From Gosport Bus Station (which can be found as soon as you get off the ferry) you can find a bus that will take you to Stokes Bay, this is not a particularly frequent service. A taxi could be taken with the trip being about 2 miles and would cost approximately £3.
